Bordighera
Bordighera, a quiet renaissance walled village, became an “English colony” in the 19th century. Discovered by the British because of a novel, it was enriched with villas, parks and hotels, thanks also to the great architect Charles Garnier and to his most illustrious guest, Queen Margherita of Savoy. There were many painters who celebrated it, first of all Claude Monet.
Today Bordighera offers numerous sites to visit, as well as having maintained, unique on the Riviera, a pleasant aspect of a garden city, as it was.
